Zuma won't be able to assist State Capture Inquiry until March







Former President Jacob Zuma won’t be able to assist the Zondo Commission until March. That’s according to his legal representatives who say Zuma is receiving medical treatment from outside the country. The commission’s legal team has, for now, abandoned their mission to subpoena the former president. But the Commission and Zuma’s lawyers agreed that the arguments be heard at a later stage. The State Capture Inquiry resumed this morning.

Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng has challenged those who say an amicable solution cannot be found on the land question.

Parliament still has to finalise the process that it has embarked on, on the issue of expropriation of land without compensation. On the issue of injustices of the past, the Chief Justice says no one can dispute the negative impact colonialism had on Africans. Mogoeng was delivering the 17th edition of the annual Mandela Lecture in Soweto.
